  • BS, MS, or PhD in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another related field
  • 10+ years of postgraduate experience in systems engineering, robotics, systems analysis, data analysis, statistical analysis, project management or other related fields
  • Industry experience in system engineering and requirements management including system analysis, requirements authoring, test generation, and validation activities
  • 2+ years of industry experience leading small teams
  • Experience with driving requirements for SW systems, AI/ML systems, and managing traceability between program level directives to feature list
  • Understanding of safety analysis including fault tree analysis and hazard analysis
  • Experience verifying requirements using multiple types of verification methods with an emphasis on simulation
  • Proficient in documenting requirements using off-the-shelf tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills from presentations to senior leadership to authoring requirements
  • Experience writing SQL and Python code to analyze large data sets coming out of hardware systems
  • Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills: you can interpret what the data is telling us, and which analyses will reveal impactful conclusions
  • Fluent in data-based and analytical engineering problem solving practices, including using paretos, root cause analysis, and more
  • Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity
Responsibilities
  • Decompose the top-level system functions, behaviors and features into a set of requirements that specify the expected end-to-end system and driving behavior
  • Ensure that the respective Requirement Documents is necessary and sufficient to fulfill the goal of a safe, legal and responsible autonomous product
  • Communicate early and often with partner teams, document the requirements and decisions, hold reviews
  • Develop and maintain clear development pipelines, workflows and dashboards for these functions, and partner closely with the development teams on the most effective way to engineer driving behaviors
  • Define a verification plan and test methods for the function or behavior, at the integrated system level, that verifies the end-to-end implementation of the function
  • Lead and coordinate systems engineering activities
  • Develop/update new systems engineering processes
  • Develop and maintain clear development pipelines, workflows and dashboards for these functions, and partner closely with the development teams on the most effective way to engineer driving behaviors
Desired Qualifications
  • Proven track record of successful systems engineering for a safety-critical product
