Requirements
  • At least five years of experience working in an information technology environment in a similar capacity.
  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Windows desktop environments, LAN connectivity, Microsoft Office, Outlook, anti-spam, anti-virus, spyware, and malware.
  • A CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, or equivalent desktop technology certification is required currently or within six months of hire.
  • Highly proficient in learning new hardware and application software.
  • A valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with Partnership policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and to move, carry, or lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds when required.
  • Ability to work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., work under minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment, prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and handle user software and PC problems with diplomacy and tact.
  • Willingness to complete initial training and continue learning new software, databases, and technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level support for day-to-day PC operations, production operations, systems, and telecommunications.
  • Support and lead help desk functions, including PC troubleshooting, software updates, and maintenance of PC and network systems hardware inventory.
  • Serve as the primary and second-level escalation point for desktop, Voice over Internet Protocol, audio/visual, and connectivity support for internal customers and end users.
  • Implement, test, and deploy new servers, software, systems, network changes, and security changes.
  • Provide primary operations support to the production environment, maintain production-support skills, and provide on-call support as required.
  • Learn advanced operations procedures and troubleshooting techniques from the Director of Network Operations and document them.
  • Provide tier I/II support for PC and phone issues and support end users with PC, phone, audio/visual, connectivity, and application issues.
  • Receive, prioritize, schedule, escalate, track, and document help desk requests through final resolution.
  • Perform desktop-level fixes, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Coordinate and perform Active Directory user management, including user and organizational-unit moves, additions, and changes.
  • Create, delete, archive, and secure Exchange mailboxes and distribution lists, and maintain their functionality.
  • Perform Windows file and folder security tasks.
  • Set up and support company-issued and bring-your-own-device mobile devices, including iPads, smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Perform mobile device management tasks through Maas360 in accordance with security and compliance policies.
  • Set up and support virtual desktops in VMware and Citrix Desktop Director.
  • Set up and support teleworker deployments and systems.
  • Maintain the organization’s Voice over Internet Protocol telecommunications infrastructure, including creating phones, accounts, and automatic call distributor lines; running reports; monitoring phone-system performance; escalating vendor issues; restarting telephone-system components; and documenting changes and upkeep.
  • Research software for information technology and other departments.
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources to aid in problem resolution.
  • Identify and learn the software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
  • Document daily operations, telephone-system, and network procedures and assist in documenting network and systems policies and procedures.
  • Work periodically with information technology staff on assigned projects.
  • Back up the Report Administrator by running routine HP jobs, reports, and check runs.
  • Provide periodic additional support for audio/visual conferences and setup.
  • Remain available by cell phone to assist with coordination of information technology outages 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s technical degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare information technology is preferred.
  • Prior working experience with Active Directory, Exchange 2013/2010, DHCP/DNS, virtual desktop infrastructure using Citrix XenDesktop or VMware is preferred.
