PNC Financial Services is a large U.S. bank that provides a wide range of financial services for individuals, small businesses, and large corporations. It offers checking and savings accounts, credit cards, home and auto loans, and retirement planning, plus digital tools such as the PNC Virtual Wallet that combines checking, savings, and budgeting features. The product works by letting customers manage money through traditional banking products and digital tools: deposits and loans generate interest, while fees and investment income add to revenue. Compared with many peers, PNC differentiates itself through its integrated digital wallet platform and a long history of service, plus a strong emphasis on community involvement and corporate responsibility. The company's goal is to help clients reach their financial goals by providing expert advice, reliable service, and support for local communities, employees, and shareholders.

Super-regional banks show CRE loan divergence as credit costs improve but nonperforming assets rise

Super-regional banks reported commercial loan growth and higher net interest income in Q2 2026, according to Trepp. Net interest income rose sequentially at all 11 banks, with Citizens and PNC each up 4%. Major acquisitions affected year-over-year comparisons. Fifth Third absorbed Comerica, Huntington added Veritex and Cadence, and PNC acquired FirstBank of Lakewood. Net charge-off ratios declined at eight banks, whilst credit loss allowances fell at 10 of 11 institutions. However, commercial real estate performance diverged. Citizens reduced its CRE charge-off rate to 0.36% from 0.64%, and PNC cut nonperforming CRE balances by 10%. Truist, U.S. Bancorp, and KeyCorp each recorded higher CRE nonperforming assets despite overall charge-off declines, suggesting uneven stress from legacy office and multifamily exposure.

Target Hospitality secures $660M credit facility, quadrupling capacity and cutting borrowing costs by 250 basis points

Target Hospitality Corp., a North American provider of modular accommodations and hospitality services, has closed a new $660 million asset-based revolving credit facility. The facility replaces the company's previous $175 million credit facility, nearly quadrupling its committed borrowing capacity. The five-year facility, maturing in July 2031, includes an accordion feature allowing up to $190 million in additional commitments, potentially increasing total capacity to $850 million. Borrowings will bear interest at Term SOFR plus 2.25% to 3.00%, representing a reduction in borrowing costs of up to 250 basis points. Chief Financial Officer Jason Vlacich said the facility will support the company's commercial pipeline of more than 20,000 beds whilst lowering capital costs and extending debt maturity. JPMorgan Chase Bank acted as Administrative Agent, with PNC Bank and Wells Fargo as Joint Lead Arrangers.

High interest rates boost bank profits: 3 stocks to consider in July

High interest rates are boosting profits for US banks, making three stocks worth considering in July, according to investment analysis. The bank added 160,000 new checking accounts and opened 1 million credit card accounts in the quarter. The Pittsburgh-based company recently completed a $4.1 billion acquisition of FirstBank, adding nearly 100 branches in Arizona and Colorado.
