Requirements
  • Must meet the appropriate teacher qualifications for the program.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Must have current car insurance and a valid unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Must meet externship site contract requirements.
  • Must be able and willing to communicate, think, learn, and reason.
  • Must be able to use computers and computer systems, including hardware and software, to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to safely ambulate and maneuver when on-site at company locations.
  • Must demonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering, and category flexibility.
  • Must use good judgment and problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve the assigned extern-to-hire metric, with a standard 50% extern-to-hire rate.
  • Develop new externship sites.
  • Assist in developing student job leads.
  • Assign students to externship sites with the Program Director, in consultation with the Academic Dean.
  • Conduct site visitations for assigned externs and complete site visitation reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Supervise externship training in compliance with Academic Affairs Department policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the exchange of externship information, including timesheets, with the Program Director and Registrar.
  • Attend and direct assigned externship orientation.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate receipt of required reports from students and sites.
  • Review all externship evaluations and direct information to the Program Director as appropriate.
  • Advise externs as needed.
  • Attend staff, departmental, and Advisory Board meetings as directed.
  • Participate in commencement ceremonies.
  • Communicate daily or as necessary with the Program Director.
  • Communicate daily or as necessary with the Graduate Employment Director.
  • Maintain a log of outside activities and provide it to the Program Director.
  • Promote and maintain a team concept within the Academic Affairs Department.
  • Maintain professional dress as a representative of the school.
  • Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures.
  • Assist with PAC meetings as requested.
  • Remain current on developments, practices, procedures, and equipment related to the program and professional specialty.
  • Instruct classes as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Marketing and/or sales experience is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
