Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years of safety experience, with previous experience in construction or maintenance, oil and gas (upstream or midstream), fossil-fired power plants, pipeline construction, or greenfield or brownfield projects.
  • OSHA 510 or OSHA 511 certificate holder.
  • Proficiency with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to deliver presentations and communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • Ability to report to the assigned location.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk the property and laydown yards.
  • Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure implementation of all company policies and procedures, as well as other work processes.
  • Monitor compliance with company, client, and governmental safety rules and regulations.
  • Conduct frequent inspections focused on unsafe conditions and at-risk behavior, and ensure corrective actions are documented and delegated to the appropriate person or team for immediate resolution.
  • Participate in or conduct new employee orientations.
  • Maintain HSE records in compliance with recordkeeping standards.
  • Facilitate or coordinate safety training as necessary and forward completed training documentation to the training center.
  • Conduct frequent facility hazard inspections and ensure appropriate hazard control techniques are implemented for all work scopes.
  • Ensure incident reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Investigate all incidents, including first aids and near misses, and participate in formal root cause analysis investigations as required.
  • Ensure witness statements are completed by injured employees, other employees involved in the incident, and associated witnesses.
  • Ensure drug screens are completed when required.
  • Transport injured employees to a medical facility when required, obtain medical authorization forms, reports, releases, and related clinic documentation, and submit it to Corporate HSE Management.
  • Keep Corporate HSE Management informed of aftercare results and applicable follow-up visits.
  • Coordinate Project Emergency Action Plan procedures.
  • Verify that employees are issued and use appropriate personal protective equipment for potential and existing hazards.
  • Perform regular jobsite inspections of all crews to identify unsafe work practices and conditions, document visits on observation forms, and forward findings to administrative and management personnel.
  • Ensure proper fire extinguishers and first aid supplies are maintained.
  • Support Site Staff in developing safety processes, including job safety analysis development, and attend daily pre-task assessment meetings and huddles.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certifications and training as a safety professional are preferred.
  • OSHA Outreach Trainer certification is preferred.
