Caruso St John Architects.

Caruso St John Architects. Planning permission Stäfa, Switzerland Planning permission has been granted for the renovation of a late 19th century building - part of an urban ensemble previously housing the Café Central - into four shared apartments with a planted courtyard and a terrace overlooking the Zurich lake. Construction is due to start in autumn 2026. Completion Zurich, Switzerland The construction of a new office building for insurance company AXA has now been completed on Stampfenbachstrasse in Zurich. Under construction Schönenwerd, Switzerland The renovation work has begun on Haus zum Magazin, a former administrative building of the Bally shoe factory dating from 1903. Various layers from previous era's were removed to expose the original steel columns and timber ceilings. Existing windows were retained and sometimes reinforced with new glazing assemblies, and new openings are being cut into the facade to create balconies. The project aims to balance the clearly discernible existing structure and the new residential use. Project Update Munich, Germany Work on the refurbishment of the Neue Pinakothek is now well underway. Re-use sits at the heart of the project: original stonework is being carefully dismantled, cleaned, and catalogued before being reinstated following the upgrade of insulation and building services. A precise labelling system and dedicated on-site storage are central to making this process work. Announcement Cents, Luxembourg Caruso St John Architects, together with Studio SNCDA, have been appointed as architects for the renovation and extension of the Schwaarzt Haus, a social and community centre in Cents, Luxembourg. Under construction Lucerne, Switzerland Two load-bearing Atlas cedar columns will highlight the passageway in the center of the apartments in Eggen. The tree trunks come from the forests of the Occitane region in southwestern France, near Figeac, and were around 120 years old when cut. Under construction Magdalen College, Oxford, UK Public notice for the commencement of the first phase of construction works for the Riverside Project. This first phase will see all works within the Grade I listed Cloisters IX completing ahead of Phase 2 scheduled to follow in close sequence by the end of the year, subject to College approval. Under construction Lucerne, Switzerland A mix-and-match mock-up has been constructed for the residential project Eggen. Located on the outskirts of Lucerne, the two buildings will be defined by their timber façades and a distinctive, colourful presence. Under construction Lucerne, Switzerland For one of the buildings in Eggen, Lucerne, a tree trunk will be used to mark the two-storey passage through the centre of the Z-shaped building as load-bearing columns. Two Atlas cedars were selected, which were felled in the winter of 2023/24 in a forest near Figeac, France. The trees were approximately 120 years old. Project update Zurich, Switzerland Caruso St John is currently preparing the construction phase for the West Tower at the Hardturm site in Zurich. The façades will be clad with floor-to-ceiling folded chrome-steel sheets, for which initial samples have been developed. Through their surface, depth, reflections, and shadows, these elements combine to form a distinctive figure in the building's elevation. Planning permission Oxford, United Kingdom Planning permission has been granted for the Riverside Project at Magdalen College in Oxford. The project is focused on enhancing the social heart of the college - a series of rooms on the east side of the estate clustered around the Old Kitchen Bar and the river terrace overlooking the Cherwell. The scheme will increase social and teaching space, improve access, conserve existing listed fabric, and reduce energy loss as part of an estate-wide programme of decarbonization. Under construction Zurich, Switzerland Topped-out! The building cooperative and the contractors celebrated the topping-out ceremony for construction sites A and D. Caruso St John developed the project in collaboration with Lütjens Padmanabhan Architects and is responsible for the smaller residential building, the kindergarten and the cooperative's office within the ensemble. Project update Museum of Youth Culture is the world's first museum dedicated to the lives of teenagers and young people. Caruso St John is working with the Museum on the design of its new permanent space at St Pancras Campus. Opening soon!

AXA profit growth signals strong outlook for insurance sector.

AXA profit growth signals strong outlook for insurance sector. TrendPulse AI Analysis This article covers finance trends, sourced from nasdaq Finance. Its AI system has analyzed the key points and extracted the most relevant insights for decision-makers. Below is the structured breakdown of the original content. Quick summary. * AXA SA reported a 6% increase in first-half net income to €4.171 billion, driven by robust growth in gross written premiums. * The company raised its fiscal 2026 outlook, now anticipating underlying earnings per share growth at the top end of its 6-8% target range. * Investors should prepare for the upcoming strategic roadmap for 2027-2029, which is scheduled for presentation on September 15. Key details. AXA, the French insurance and asset management giant, demonstrated financial resilience in the first half of 2026. The firm reported net income of €4.171 billion, a notable improvement over the €3.922 billion recorded during the same period last year. This performance translated to a 13% increase in net income per share, reaching €2.01. Revenue growth was a primary catalyst for these results, with gross written premiums and other revenues climbing 3% to €66.288 billion. On a comparable basis, this represents a 5% increase, highlighting consistent demand across core business lines. Specifically, the Property & Casualty segment contributed €35.072 billion, while the Life & Health division saw a strong 7% growth, reaching €31.164 billion. Looking forward, management has expressed increased confidence in the company's trajectory. By adjusting its fiscal 2026 guidance to the upper end of its 6-8% earnings growth target, AXA is signaling that its current underwriting and investment strategies are successfully navigating volatile market conditions. The market is now turning its attention toward the upcoming strategic plan for 2027-2029, which will likely outline the firm's long-term capital allocation and growth priorities. Why this matters. AXA's ability to grow premiums while simultaneously improving earnings per share suggests that the insurer is successfully managing inflationary pressures and pricing risks within its portfolio. For investors, this performance validates the company's shift toward more profitable, less volatile business segments. The decision to guide toward the top end of their earnings target provides a rare sense of stability in the current macroeconomic environment. "AXA now expects underlying earnings per share growth at the upper end of its 6-8 percent plan target range." Industry professionals should monitor the September 15 strategic presentation closely, as it will likely dictate the company's valuation multiples for the next three years. As global interest rates and market volatility continue to fluctuate, AXA's focus on disciplined underwriting and premium growth serves as a benchmark for the broader insurance sector's ability to maintain margins in a post-pandemic economy. The bottom line. AXA's strong H1 performance and upgraded guidance underscore a disciplined operational strategy that positions the insurer for sustained profitability through 2026.
