Requirements
  • Master's degree from an American Library Association-accredited (or equivalent) library science or information science program
  • Ability to develop and deliver dynamic instruction on discovering, evaluating, and using information resources
  • Demonstrated understanding of information sources and research processes used in business
  • Demonstrated competency in both in person and online reference services or research support
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, collaboration, and presentation skills for communicating with a wide range of constituencies.
Responsibilities
  • Serves as liaison to all academic departments in the Chaifetz School of Business.
  • Collaborates with faculty to design and deliver library instruction that best meets the learning objectives of courses in these academic programs.
  • Creates instructional support tools such as online research guides, tutorials, and other digital learning objects.
  • Collaborates with faculty to design and deliver library instruction that best meets the learning objectives of the Core Ignite courses for first-year students.
  • Engages with departmental faculty and students (undergraduate and graduate) to support scholarship and research and provide in-depth specialized research assistance.
  • Provides in-person and virtual research assistance and consultations to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Supports and participates in outreach activities and events organized by the department, Libraries & Museums, and the University.
  • Collaborates with other subject librarians and library leaders to assess instructional programs and services.
  • Works with faculty, departments, research centers, and others across the university to understand appropriate use of bibliometrics and other tools that generate research impact measures.
  • Explores and answers methodological questions related to research impact in interdisciplinary fields where social and climate impact cannot be measured by traditional citation metrics.
  • Understands the issues related to responsible research evaluation via bibliometric data; conversant with issues related to quantifying research impact.
  • Collaborates with researchers and faculty to evaluate the impact of their work through the utilization of various bibliometric tools and databases.
  • Offers consultations to researchers, guiding them on strategies to enhance the visibility and impact of their research outputs.
  • Advises on best practices for manuscript preparation, journal selection, and open-access publishing.
  • Develops and conducts workshops, seminars, and training sessions for researchers, graduate students, and faculty on research impact assessment, effective publishing strategies, and compliance with funding agency requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Associate Dean of Collections & Strategy and the Collection Management Group (CMG), manages and develops electronic and print collections for the subject areas of the position.
  • Identifies new titles and/or creates order profiles to facilitate the addition of materials to the collection.
  • Collects, records, and makes collaborative data-driven decisions related to holdings and use of collections within given subject areas.
  • Collaborates with other subject librarians and library leaders to assess the usefulness and quality of library collections.
  • Serves on committees and task forces at the department, Libraries & Museums, and University level.
  • Participates in local, state, and national/international professional and scholarly societies and organizations.
  • Conducts research and/or scholarship and presents research results thereof at conferences, through publication, or other avenues
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years' experience providing research and instructional services in a library.
  • Knowledge of or experience with a business discipline, which could include a bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of or experience with emerging issues and technologies in business librarianship including the application of generative AI tools to business research and teaching
  • Familiarity with content management systems such as Springshare
  • Active involvement in scholarship or professional development activities
  • Familiarity with best practices for research data management and data dissemination, and/or emerging methodologies for data analysis
  • Working knowledge of various AI tools
