Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
Responsibilities
  • Provide an elective general surgery practice with a blended role including involvement in an emergency general surgery service, with an estimated ratio of approximately 1:4 EGS to elective general surgery (roughly 1 week of EGS and 3 weeks of elective general surgery per month)
  • Participate in night and weekend call duties about 1:8 during non-EGS weeks
  • Perform general surgery cases including gallbladders, appendectomies, hernias, benign anorectal procedures, peritoneal dialysis catheter placement, and skin surgery
  • Teaching responsibilities with residents and medical students
  • Collaborate with general surgery partners and colleagues within a multi-specialty setting
  • Option to perform colon surgery and breast surgery if of interest
  • Work with a support staff including one advanced practice practitioner for rounding and consults while on the Emergency General Surgery Service
  • No trauma call
