Position Overview:

We have an excellent opportunity for a BC/BE General Surgeon at our Westside Medical Center. Our new surgeon will have an elective practice blended with one week a month supporting our Emergency General Surgery (EGS) Team. Our ideal partner will be a recent graduate or experienced surgeon with a drive to be clinically active and improve care pathways for EGS surgery patients.  

What You Can Expect:

• Hybrid emergent general surgery (EGS) and elective general surgery position
• Advanced laparoscopic/robotic training preferred
• Estimate ratio of EGS to elective general surgery to be about 1:4 (roughly 1 week of EGS and 3 weeks of elective general surgery per month)
• Night/weekend call duties about 1:8 during non-EGS weeks onlySupport staff includes 1 APP for rounding/consults while on the EGS Service  
• No trauma call
• Elective practice with a good blend of bread-and-butter general surgery cases, including gallbladders, appendectomies, hernias, benign anorectal, peritoneal dialysis catheter placement, skin surgery
• Option for colon surgery and breast surgery, if that is of interest
• Teaching responsibilities with residents and medical students
• Hospital facility is convenient with OR, clinic, and inpatient floors situated in close proximity, which facilitates excellent collaboration with general surgery partners and colleagues
• General surgery partners include a well-rounded mix of elective general surgeons, bariatric/foregut surgeons, breast surgeons, and colorectal surgeons

The annual salary for this position is $335,800 - $409,500 which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, training, market data, and other relevant factors.
