Requirements
  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is required for low-bed and lowboy work.
  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License is required for tilt-bed and flat-bed work.
  • Compliance with all Department of Transportation physical requirements is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • The ability to give and receive written or oral instructions is required.
  • The ability to work independently is required.
  • The ability to pass Department of Transportation physicals is required.
  • Skill in loading and unloading heavy equipment is required.
  • The ability to read maps and follow directions to locations is required.
  • The ability to operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck is required.
  • The ability to interact professionally with the public and company personnel while making deliveries is required.
  • The ability to drive safely while maintaining composure and restraint is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform extensive physical activity and dexterity is required.
  • The ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends is required.
Responsibilities
  • Transport construction materials and equipment to customer or job-site locations.
  • Move construction materials at different job sites as assigned.
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle and immediately report problems to the shop.
  • Drive to destinations using knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
  • Maintain a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Promptly report traffic or site-condition problems and obtain information about job-site locations, light bridges, and roads along the route.
  • Comply with truck maintenance, cleanliness, and repair guidelines in the Truck Driver’s Handbook.
  • Hook up, load, and unload equipment, including after prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
