Pilz MYZEL lifecycle platform. MYZEL by Pilz is a SaaS-based lifecycle platform designed to address one of the biggest challenges in modern industry: the gap between machines, people and compliance. As automation becomes more complex and regulatory requirements tighten, critical information is often scattered across systems, documents and departments - creating risk, inefficiency and uncertainty. MYZEL is designed to bring everything together in one secure, digital environment, connecting machinery, workflows, documentation and employee qualifications across the entire machine lifecycle. By making safety, compliance and operational data visible and traceable in real time, MYZEL can be used to transform fragmented information into clear, actionable insight. Operators, machine builders and safety professionals gain a shared source of truth - enabling faster decisions, smoother collaboration and proactive compliance management instead of reactive firefighting. A unified view helps reduce downtime, prevent errors and ensure that the right people, with the right qualifications, are working on the right machines at the right time. Built on strong cybersecurity foundations and designed to evolve with industry demands, MYZEL aims to bridge the digital gap and turn complexity into confidence - supporting safer, more efficient and future-ready industrial operations. Belden at hannover: native layer 2 over wireless 5G. 03 April 2026 Belden will take the stage to demonstrate a groundbreaking approach to how deterministic wireless communication is going to help manufacturers expand factory connectivity and synchronize critical operations with real-time automation requirements. Wireless can now start taking on roles that, until now, have largely belonged to wired industrial networks. At the show, Belden and its partner Qualcomm will demonstrate a private 5G setup designed for factory environments where precise coordination between devices matters just as much as bandwidth. Using a live conveyor application located in Hall 26, Stand F06, (17), visitors will see how sensors and drives can communicate in real time across a private 5G network, while staying aligned with the demands of modern automation practices. The demonstration is intended to show what this could mean in practice for manufacturers looking to expand or adapt production lines more easily. This includes connecting moving or hard-to-reach equipment and reducing the dependency on new cabling when reconfiguring the factory floor. Belden has launched new cybersecurity products targeting industrial and data centre environments, including a next-generation Virtual Firewall for operational technology networks and LioN-X LC Digital I/O Modules for flexible deployments. The hardware-agnostic firewall features deep packet inspection of OT protocols and intrusion prevention, positioning Belden in the IT and OT convergence space alongside competitors like Cisco and Fortinet. The digital I/O modules mark Belden's first such products under its own brand, extending into factory automation. The launches reflect Belden's shift towards higher-value, software-enabled solutions tied to digital transformation and automation. However, increased investment in security functionality could pressure margins if adoption or pricing fails to keep pace with spending.
Belden hires Jeff Winter to strengthen commercial strategy and Industry 4.0 focus. February 16, 2026 Belden Inc. announced that Jeff Winter has joined the company as vice president of commercial strategy. In his new role, Winter will help shape and lead Belden's commercial strategy while expanding technical capabilities and credibility across its core markets. His deep expertise and influence within Industry 4.0 bring additional depth and mastery to Belden's already industry-leading IT/OT convergence solutions. "Jeff helps manufacturers navigate the complexity of digital transformation with clarity and authenticity, which has earned him the trust of industry leaders worldwide," said Brian Lieser, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. "As we endeavor to expand the value we offer to Belden customers, Jeff's ability to connect strategy to real-world outcomes will be invaluable." Winter is widely recognized as one of the leading independent voices in industrial automation, AI and manufacturing. Winter brings over two decades of manufacturing industry experience spanning automation, controls, and digital transformation. He has held senior roles at Microsoft, Hitachi Solutions, Omron Automation, and Critical Manufacturing, where he advised multi-billion-dollar manufacturers on their digital transformation strategies. He also serves on the international board of directors of both the Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA) and the International Society of Automation (ISA) and is a U.S.-registered expert for the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). "I've spent my career helping leaders understand not just what's possible in modern manufacturing, but what it takes - organizationally, technically, and culturally - to make it real," said Winter. "Belden is doing exactly what I've been advocating for: building the infrastructure that makes Industry 4.0 practical, not just possible. I'm excited to shape that strategy while continuing to serve the broader industrial community as an independent voice." Winter's addition signals Belden's commitment to leading the Industry 4.0 conversation, not just participating in it, as the company continues its transformation into a comprehensive solutions provider. In December, Belden strengthened its commitment to advance secure connectivity in the quantum-AI era by partnering with Quantum Security & Defence (QSECDEF), the global orchestrator of the quantum-secure supply chain. From manufacturing to healthcare, the challenges organizations are facing have become so complex, data-intensive and interconnected that they can no longer be addressed with traditional computing alone. This is accelerating the move toward quantum approaches to solve high-stakes, computationally intensive problems. Industrial Cyber News Desk
