Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, health sciences, or related field (advanced degree an asset)
  • 6-10+ years of progressive client services/account management experience in medical communications, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical/healthcare industries, regulatory codes (e.g., Innovative Medicines Canada, PAAB), and accreditation processes
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive and responsive service.
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnership.
  • Lead account planning, including strategy development, insights gathering, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to and/or lead proposal development and presentations for new business opportunities.
  • Manage day-to-day execution of medical communication projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee content development, including review, fact-checking, referencing, proofreading, and managing revisions with writers, translators, and physicians.
  • Support or lead accreditation processes (CHE, CFPC, Royal College).
  • Coordinate and manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Develop briefing documents, content templates, contact reports, and other client-facing materials.
  • Supervise and mentor team members and/or freelance contributors, fostering collaboration and performance excellence.
  • Provide training and guidance on internal processes, content standards, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop, track, and manage project budgets, reconciling accounts and addressing variances as needed.
  • Maximize revenue recovery across accounts and ensure financial efficiency in project delivery.
  • Identify and secure organic growth opportunities within existing accounts; support business development efforts with new clients and therapeutic areas.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of grant proposals and funding requests.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare providers, physicians, and key opinion leaders.
  • Ensure effective engagement and communication with stakeholders across therapeutic areas.
