Requirements
  • Experience or knowledge with TekMetric software is a plus.
  • Strong automotive industry knowledge and the ability to build complex tickets accurately and efficiently are required.
  • Deep knowledge and experience estimating tickets involving third-party warranties and navigating the third-party warranty process are required.
  • Deep understanding of parts ordering, returns, and reconciliation is required.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technicians, guests, and other team members is required.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are required to coordinate multiple work orders, schedule appointments, and manage paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Strong customer service skills are required to answer customer inquiries, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction with vehicle repairs.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer software and automotive store applications is required.
  • Dependability and reliability are required for the Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. schedule.
  • The ability to remain on one's feet for most of the workday, occasionally lift and carry objects over 50 pounds, and maintain a brisk pace in a high-volume environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Review technicians' digital vehicle inspections and use them to build detailed estimates and repair orders.
  • Build detailed repair orders and estimates containing parts and labor components using industry resources and repair procedures.
  • Interface with technicians on each ticket to verify appropriate labor times, parts, and procedures so repair orders can be presented accurately and promptly to guests.
  • Manage quick-service tickets, including waiting customers, and handle phone quotes.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date repair log.
  • Answer customer inquiries and prepare estimates for guests.
  • Present the best vehicle repair solution in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ensure all work is performed to proper specifications and within the time promised to the guest.
  • Build effective relationships with parts suppliers, tool vendors, and other external vendors.
  • Prioritize technician workloads based on parts availability.
  • Prepare lists of needed service-department equipment, supplies, and repairs, and review service-department repairs with the Service Manager.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance for shop equipment.
  • Manage the parts supply process, including inventory, pricing, returns, and warranty claims.
  • Interact regularly with external vendors regarding parts inventory and pricing.
  • Work as part of the team and assist other employees as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an automotive sales, service advisor/writer, estimator, or dispatcher position is preferred.
