Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field and five to seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of experience in a people leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows-based computer programs, and enterprise resource planning/material requirements planning systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, leadership, communication, performance measurement, and employee-relations abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write technical reports, quality procedures, and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing under ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and handle ambiguous, non-standardized problems.
  • Background sufficient to secure a government security clearance.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable export-control and International Traffic in Arms Regulations requirements, or otherwise be authorized under U.S. law to access export-controlled information.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable defense and customer-specific requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop procedures, instructions, and forms for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality information in the Quality Management System.
  • Control processes for high-precision machined parts, weldments, and assemblies.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and customer specifications.
  • Manage First Article Inspection according to AS9102 requirements.
  • Develop and manage the Approved Supplier List.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure supplier quality standards are met.
  • Drive supplier corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage Material Review Board processes and disposition non-conforming material.
  • Track quality performance metrics, including cost of poor quality, defects, and escapes, and implement improvement plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
  • Establish performance goals, training programs, and career development plans.
  • Support customer audits, source inspections, and corrective action requests.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce defects, and improve product quality.
  • Integrate Advanced Product Quality Planning, AS9145, and risk-based thinking into Quality Management System processes.
  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate them with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Serve as the primary quality resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead root-cause analysis using 8D, the Five Whys, Fishbone, and other problem-solving methods to establish corrective and preventive actions and process improvements.
  • Interact with customers to identify quality improvement opportunities and establish feedback with manufacturing and engineering personnel.
  • Support quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with management, production operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Oversee standards for finished-product disposition by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
  • Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies, procedures, and government requirements.
  • Reduce and eliminate barriers to improve cost and scheduling performance.
  • Create a professional, safe, and clean work environment while following company safety practices and policies.
  • Establish effective relationships and networks with managers, directors, and workers to accomplish shared goals.
  • Abide by the company Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and comply with U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.
