Requirements
  • Superior knowledge of the FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, and other local, state and federal leave laws as well as best practice for employee leave communication and process improvement
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with all levels of the organization to ensure all parties understand their responsibilities during an individual's absence
  • Works collaboratively within and across business units and demonstrates proves experience with conflict management and influencing skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment by anticipating the consequences of actions and weighing multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Proficiency with software including Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Workday or other HR system
  • Detail oriented and strong customer service skills
  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or another applicable field preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, CEBS, or other HR certification preferred
  • 2-3 years of HR experience preferred and 3 years' experience in leave administration, workers compensation, preferably in a multi-state environment
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrating expertise in administering leaves of absence; Workers Compensation; Ergonomics and General Liability Insurance
  • Acts as liaison between employees, managers, HR Business Partners, and vendors for leave of absence, Workers Compensation, and Ergonomic related matters while providing a high level of customer service, timely conflict resolution, and sound judgment in triaging and escalating issues
  • Educates and advises HR and managers of the leave of absence, Workers Compensation, and Ergonomics policies
  • Ensuring all federal, state, and local regulations related to leave of absence and Workers Compensation programs, as well as Company policies, are being applied consistently and all documentation is kept up to date
  • Manages leave of absences, accommodations, Workers Compensation, and Ergonomic cases of varying types while coordinating and engaging with other stakeholders as appropriate
  • Ensuring the appropriate vendors manage leave and claims in accordance with the applicable law and company policy
  • Partner with Legal (internal and external), Facilities, and HRBPs to manage relevant leave of absence and Workers Compensation claim detail and response, implementing action plan for timely resolution of claims
  • Keeping current with Leave and Workforce Health trends and best practices; recognize potential implications for the Company and recommend new policies, programs, or opportunities as appropriate Lead key initiatives/projects as needed
  • Participate in projects; recommend policy and procedure changes as appropriate
  • Actively engaging in strategic planning, promotion, delivery and evaluation of leave and occupational health and safety programs
  • Developing and deploying educational materials and training
