Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of registered nurse experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered California registered nurse license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 pounds routinely and more with assistance.
  • Ability to assist in emergency evacuations if necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing in directing daily nursing operations in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating nursing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure nursing reference materials and procedure manuals are current and accessible.
  • Monitor compliance with nursing service policies and procedures.
  • Prepare written and oral reports regarding nursing operations.
  • Assist with discharge planning and coordination of nursing services.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in facility surveys and audits conducted by regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information and report unauthorized access.
  • Attend and participate in assigned interdisciplinary committee meetings, including Infection Control, QAA, and Pharmacy committees.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presenting information to committees.
  • Participate in care plan and discharge planning meetings.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants for the assigned shift.
  • Delegate duties appropriately and supervise nursing staff.
  • Conduct rounds to ensure care is delivered according to standards.
  • Monitor attendance and report staffing concerns.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary processes.
  • Report suspected fraud, abuse, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Provide direct nursing care as required.
  • Perform resident assessments and monitor changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of nursing care and resident responses.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Respond to emergencies and changes in resident status.
  • Ensure medication administration and treatment schedules are followed.
  • Monitor infection control practices and resident safety.
  • Participate in and support in-service education and training programs.
  • Assist with orientation and supervision of nurse aide trainees.
  • Maintain required continuing education and licensure.
  • Enforce safety, sanitation, and infection control policies.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to exposure protocols.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness, fire drills, and disaster response.
  • Report hazardous conditions and safety violations.
  • Participate in resident assessments, care plans, and Minimum Data Set processes.
  • Ensure nursing staff follows resident care plans.
  • Review documentation to ensure compliance and quality care.
  • Assist with the overall supervision and management of nursing staff and exercise delegated administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for assigned duties.

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Hancock guided PACS through its successful initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in April 2024 and served as interim CFO from September 2025. He will be succeeded by Carey P. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer. During his tenure, he led the transformation of Medicare payment policy, increasing payments in alternative payment models from virtually zero to over 30% of total Medicare payments.
