Requirements
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as an Apprentice Electrician with the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.
  • Commitment to completing required technical training and on-the-job training hours.
  • Maintain a valid apprenticeship agreement throughout employment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness and availability to travel for project-based work.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and continuous learning.
  • Compliance with Shermco Canada Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Participation in required training and safety programs.
  • The position may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing testing in accordance with Shermco Canada’s Alcohol and Drug Policy and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned electrical tasks under the supervision of a certified Journeyperson Electrician in accordance with Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission regulations.
  • Assist in the installation, construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Work with low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems appropriate to the apprentice’s level of training and competency.
  • Participate in structured, progressive skills development consistent with the apprenticeship level.
  • Accurately record hours worked and tasks performed toward apprenticeship requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting and testing of electrical and control systems.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Travel to project sites, including out-of-town work, as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous industrial or commercial electrical experience.
  • Completion of relevant safety training such as CSTS or WHMIS.
