Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or public administration, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent additional experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • At least 5 years of healthcare administration, budget management, finance, or closely related industry experience.
  • At least 2 years of direct management or leadership experience within a customer or client service environment.
  • Highly developed business acumen and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of business and management principles, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, and operations.
  • Knowledge and implementation of regulatory requirements and laws governing clinic activities.
  • Knowledge of customer-service principles and processes, including customer needs assessment, quality standards, and customer-satisfaction evaluation.
  • Experience and ability to manage an entity with at least $40 million in annual revenue.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, organizational, negotiation, and management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and presentation software.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide.
Responsibilities
  • Direct and administer the day-to-day operations of multiple medical centers.
  • Own and operate an average annual budget exceeding $50 million for multiple medical centers staffing up to 150 employees and serving up to 10,000 patients per year.
  • Design, develop, and implement ongoing strategies for operational excellence and growth within the centers.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure patient care, service, and clinical metrics, goals, and objectives meet or exceed expectations.
  • Provide overall direction to the operational and administrative aspects of the market.
  • Partner with market leaders to execute business plans and meet growth and financial objectives.
  • Train, develop, coach, and mentor center leaders and operations teams.
  • Provide management support for high-quality, cost-effective clinical outcomes and service delivery.
  • Manage execution of key operational outcomes and coordinate with centers of excellence to provide appropriate market resources.
  • Communicate and promote ownership of scorecard measurements and total-quality initiatives.
  • Grow teams to match business needs.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Lead growth strategies for each center around disenrollment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and complete required disciplinary actions with center leaders.
  • Monitor office communication and performance across center leaders, front-desk, referral, and care teams.
  • Monitor patient volumes and wait times to ensure efficient patient flow from check-in through check-out.
  • Ensure the accuracy of incoming and outgoing supplies, invoices, billing requests, and patient records.
  • Develop strategies to increase and retain membership.
  • Collaborate with leaders on strategic business planning.
  • Drive center success across people, finance, service, growth, and outcomes.
  • Monitor the competitive healthcare environment and drive retention and service quality.
  • Work with clinical providers to schedule patient meetings and prepare patient correspondence.
  • Review reports to ensure target metrics are achieved and processes are followed.
  • Conduct center walkthroughs to ensure clean and safe environments, including checks for expired medications and proper biohazard-waste and medicine disposal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or modified by management.

  • An MBA or master's degree in healthcare or public administration or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing a diverse group of functional-area professionals.
  • Experience managing and overseeing a multi-million-dollar profit-and-loss account.

Before Expa, Jeff was Head of Talent Acquisition at Dental Care Alliance (DCA), one of the largest dental support organizations in the United States. During his tenure, he led talent acquisition initiatives supporting more than 400 dental practices and over 900 dentists across multiple states, helping the organization strengthen its workforce and support continued growth.
