Critical Mass’ Trailhead Internship Program is a 12-week jump-start to your career. As an Art Direction intern you are a part of the conceptual development and execution of creative deliverables. You will work with teams creating and communicating concepts, implementing marketing strategies, and developing interactive design solutions. Balancing creative thinking with interpersonal skills, you will learn new creative concepts and see the line between creative expression and commercial reality. You will work directly with Art Directors and other creative teammates as you grow throughout your 12 weeks at Critical Mass. Most importantly, you are driven by a passion for design and visual communication and innovative learning and thinking.
You will:
- Develop concepts and communicate ideas.
- Balance strategic development with client business objectives.
- Learn creative delegation on client work.
- Directly contribute to project design and development including creating storyboards and initial graphic concepts, conceive functional design solutions, create site grids and interface demos, and provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables.
- Build relationships with other CM creative and cross discipline staff members.
- Contribute to the innovative development of the creative department.
- Participate in strategic brainstorming, concept development, creative brief development, and creative execution.
You have:
- Strong portfolio showcasing your visual design and conceptual art direction skill-set.
- Experience with strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development, and creative execution.
- An ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines.
- Knowledge of the latest versions of Mac OS, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma.
- Understanding of the strengths and limitations of After Effects, QuickTime, Director, ImageReady, and Final Cut Pro.
- Efficient organizational skills and a motivated dedication to the creative team.
- Eagerness to collaborate with other creative people.
- Illustration skills in both electronic and traditional media.
- 1-2 years left in your university or certificate schooling.

The salary range for this role, based in California, is $21 per hour and we continually review ranges to address skills, experience and markets. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position.”
