Desired Qualifications

15+ years of experience in Linux platform operating system development
Experience with concurrency, inter-process communication, and real-time systems
Deep understanding of Linux, including the kernel, early boot, memory management, scheduling
Excellent knowledge of Network protocols, Wifi technologies, security protocols and distributed systems
Experience in software development and coding with C++, Python languages
Experience with system or embedded programming and debugging
Excellent knowledge of software and application design principles
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Working knowledge of development tools such as Jira and Git/Github

The Boston Dynamics Stretch development team is looking for a Principal Software Architect. If you are creative, enjoy learning new tools/technologies, and thrive in a dynamic and team-oriented environment, this role is for you.

In this role, you will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team. You will help explore new technologies for use in our future products.

Day to day activities:

Collaborating with other teams to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
