Requirements
  • A diploma or Associate's degree in nursing is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be current or completed during orientation before providing patient care and maintained throughout employment.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification is required within six months of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • New graduates must complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
Responsibilities
  • Systematically assess and reassess healthcare needs for individuals according to age group and patient condition, involving patients, families, and healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Analyze assessments to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, involving patients, families, and healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Provide and coordinate nursing care through interventions that achieve patient goals and needs, using professional judgment guided by evidence-based practice, regulations, and policy.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes using critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts, and reach sound conclusions.
  • Evaluate discharge needs related to the plan of care and use resources as needed.
  • Practice nursing professionally.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare field is preferred.
