Requirements
  • BS Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience in related roles
  • Two or more years of experience working with relational databases
  • Experience with enterprise data modeling software, entity relationship diagrams, and dimensional database analysis or design is required
  • Working knowledge of Team Foundation Services 2012
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment
  • Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being proactive in keeping management informed of project related issues

  • Responsibilities and duties include developing and maintaining a formal description of the data and data structures, metadata management, data modeling, and metadata workflow management
  • Inventory existing data repositories and document their structures and contents and data flow between them
  • Model business and systems processes through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models
  • Assist application development teams in creating effective database designs from business requirements
  • Serve as IT subject matter expert during application development lifecycle by participating in peer reviews and knowledge transfer
  • Analyze data to identify missing, incomplete, or invalid information and contact originators to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data
  • Assist in supporting multiple SQL Server data repositories, which may include documenting database architecture and analyzing datasets to identify missing, incomplete, or invalid information
  • Document the business definitions for the database entities and attributes
  • Assume responsibility for data integrity among various internal groups and between internal and external sources
  • Create metadata registry and allow domain-specific stakeholders to maintain their own data elements
  • Provide a standard design for the construction of data mapping documents and oversee their generation
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation using database design principles and adherence to business standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements
  • Facilitate, conduct and document data mapping sessions
  • Define requirements by conducting interviews and facilitating participation in data modeling sessions with business clients
  • Assist in supporting multiple SQL Server data repository, which may include documenting database architecture and analyzing datasets to identify missing, incomplete, or invalid information
  • Document the business definitions for the database entities and attributes

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with DW (data warehousing), ETL (extract, transform, load), business intelligence, or data management preferred
  • Experience with enterprise data modeling software, if not required, certification in data management related areas may be preferred
