Requirements
  • Education: Preferred: AS Degree or Higher
  • Vermont Employees only: Registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Preferred hospital or retail pharmacy experience
  • PTCB or other nationally recognized certification program

Responsibilities
  • Perform duties of Pharmacy Clerk as needed including, but not limited to running cash register and answering telephones
  • Execute the plan by learning and understanding pharmacy management system and point-of-sale system; follow instructions and complete tasks with urgency; stay responsible for daily department standards
  • Maintain quality by understanding and following Quality Assurance Policy & Procedures, patient care programs and initiatives, and policies and procedures; ensure accuracy with cash and related cash controls
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced understanding of pharmacy technology including product dispensing, data entry, and adjudication workflow step
  • Ensure that every prescription has been checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing to the patient
  • Assist in the initial submission and resubmission of all third-party claims
  • Inventory management including ordering and receiving processes, inventory freshness, return to stocks and cycle counting
  • Assist in checking pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing all returns
  • Locate prescription files and other manual records from storage as needed
  • Prepare and file manual records for pharmacist signatures and review
  • Act with integrity and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards
  • Proficient in state and federal regulations ensuring compliance with the law and following company policies and procedures
  • Perform all store clerk duties as needed
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Proficient in management of MTM program and other patient-centered professional services
