Credo vs. Astera Labs: Which AI connectivity stock is the better buy?

Credo Technology Group and Astera Labs are competing for investor attention as AI infrastructure demand grows. Both specialise in high-speed connectivity solutions for AI data centres. Credo's fiscal 2026 revenues exceeded $1.3 billion, more than tripling year-over-year. Non-GAAP net income increased over fivefold. The company's active electrical cables deliver 1,000 times higher reliability whilst consuming less power than optical alternatives. For fiscal 2027, Credo expects over 80% year-over-year revenue growth. Its optical business alone is projected to generate more than $600 million. Non-GAAP net margins are forecast to remain around 50%. The recent DustPhotonics acquisition strengthens Credo's silicon photonics capabilities, adding 800G and 1.6T solutions with a roadmap to 3.2T and beyond. Risks include macroeconomic uncertainties, AI investment cycle exposure, and supply chain constraints.
