Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience operating articulated haul trucks in a road-building, mining, and/or industrial setting.
  • Experience operating on remote civil construction or heavy construction project sites.
  • Previous experience with rotational schedules and remote camp life.
  • Ability to incorporate health, safety, and environmental concepts into work activities and demonstrate concern for the health and safety of co-workers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with good safety awareness.
  • Experience with radio communications and protocols.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip and walk-around safety inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.
  • Maintain equipment in good operating condition and report and log maintenance requirements or concerns.
  • Drive articulated haul trucks along designated mine, quarry, or heavy-construction routes.
  • Complete production reports and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members.
  • Use two-way radios to coordinate loading and dumping zones with excavators and dispatch.
  • Operate other heavy equipment when required.
  • Follow all site-, company-, and client-specific safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
