Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
- An engineering degree and registration as a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers Ontario or another Canadian professional engineering association.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory codes and standards.
- Proficiency with SPEL, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, and ASPEN electrical design tools and software.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Electrical Engineers, Designers, and computer-aided design personnel in executing electrical engineering and design for mining and mineral processing projects within budget and on schedule.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance for the electrical team.
- Mentor engineers-in-training and designers.
- Prepare and check calculations as required.
- Prepare electrical equipment specification packages.
- Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications.
- Prepare detailed design, supply, construction, and installation specifications.
- Develop conceptual designs, studies, reports, and proposals.
- Ensure effective communication within project teams and with client engineers.
- Track project metrics.
- Report project issues to the Area Project Engineering Manager and functional issues to the overall Electrical Lead.
- Visit project sites and other Hatch design offices for project-related activities as required.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an engineering, procurement and construction management environment for industrial projects.
