The Food and Beverage Manager at River Place Country Club is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations within the club. This role ensures that exceptional service, quality, and experiences are delivered to all members and guests. The Manager will lead a team of staff, manage inventory, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain cost controls while driving revenue. This position requires a proactive, customer-focused individual with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of all food and beverage services, including the main dining room, bar, banquet events, and any additional outlets.
Ensure that food quality, service standards, and customer satisfaction are consistently maintained.
Manage scheduling, training, and performance of food and beverage staff.
Develop and implement operational procedures to streamline service and increase efficiency.
Staff Management:
Lead, motivate, and train the food and beverage team, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment.
Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
Maintain proper staffing levels to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
Inventory & Budgeting:
Oversee ordering, stocking, and inventory management of all food and beverage items.
Control costs through proper ordering and minimizing waste, while adhering to budget guidelines.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create cost-effective menus without compromising quality.
Guest Experience:
Provide outstanding service to members and guests, responding promptly to their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
Handle guest complaints or issues effectively and diplomatically, ensuring resolutions that uphold the club's high standards.
Develop and maintain relationships with key members to encourage repeat business.
Event Management:
Work closely with the events and catering team to plan and execute private events, banquets, weddings, and special functions.
Ensure that all events are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Assist with event budgeting, menu planning, and coordination of logistics.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all food and beverage operations comply with health and safety regulations, including sanitation and hygiene standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure proper safety training for all staff.
Sales & Marketing:
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote food and beverage offerings, events, and special promotions to members.
Create seasonal menus, signature cocktails, and promotional events to drive sales and increase member engagement.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a high-end club or restaurant setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build strong relationships with members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including POS systems, inventory management, and budgeting.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the food and beverage industry.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
Wine and beverage knowledge with experience in menu design and pairing.
Experience with event planning and catering services.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other management software.
Prior experience working in a country club or private club environment is a plus.
