Requirements
  • A high school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two years of Lead Server or Trainer experience within a fine restaurant, club, hotel, or similar institution is required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • The candidate must be available seven days per week for the work schedule.
  • The candidate must be able to interpret and explain menus, answer or refer questions, coordinate the meal service process, and understand requests.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • The applicable state health and/or alcohol compliance card is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Associate Director of Dining Services with coordinating seating, appearance, and maintenance of the banquet area and server stations while ensuring courteous and efficient service.
  • In the absence of the Associate Director of Dining Services, supervise the physical appearance of the banquet room area and server stations, including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes, and lighting.
  • Coordinate the seating of residents and guests in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Schedule stations and work assignments for wait staff and checkout servers to ensure standards are met.
  • Provide on-the-job training for banquet staff, including workplace safety procedures.
  • Record meal counts, reservations, and additional charges using point-of-sale systems.
  • Confer with the Associate Director of Dining Services regarding banquet room status.
  • Assign side work before and after shifts.
  • Assign banquet servers to workstations.
