Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree in criminal justice or another related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
  • Candidates must undergo a successful Moderate Risk or T2 background investigation, no less than an MBI (Moderate Risk Background Investigation).
  • Candidates must comply with all DOJ IT Rules of Behavior, confidentiality practices, and third-party non-disclosure agreements.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and remain subject to random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Candidates must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must have strong communication skills.
  • Candidates must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Candidates must have experience with training delivery.
  • Candidates must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time, operate a computer and office productivity machinery, work indoors 90% of the time, and occasionally move standard office equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with law enforcement officers responsible for National Missing and Unidentified Persons System case input.
  • Train officers on the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System program.
  • Support ongoing National Missing and Unidentified Persons System programs and initiatives.
  • Continue national outreach efforts.
  • Provide and manage free forensic services, including DNA, dental, fingerprint, forensic genetic genealogy, and anthropology services.
  • Provide technical assistance to state and local users.
  • Evaluate the impact of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System to aid medicolegal and other investigative efforts.
  • Support a client in the National Capital Region with national coverage.
  • Occasionally vary work hours to support different time zones.
