Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 10 years or more of experience in roadway related fields.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required. If PE is from another state, expectation to obtain a PE license in the State of California within 1 year of hire.
  • Caltrans projects experience and knowledge of Caltrans standards, policies, and manuals is essential or highly preferred.
  • Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices as well as solve complex engineering problems.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of roadway engineering tasks such as geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
  • High level experience with Microstation and Autocad as well.
  • Prepare engineering design plans, engineering computations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
  • Assist the project manager in executing and delivering project assignments.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal team and external clients/agencies.
  • May plan, lead, and supervise lower level engineers on same assignments.
  • Participate or project meetings as well as participate in site visits and field inspection as required.
