Requirements
- The candidate must meet one qualifying military or clinical background: former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer and Advanced Leader Course graduate; former Navy Enlisted Classification 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman at E-6 or above; former Air Force 4NOX1 or Aerospace Medical Service 4NOX1 at E-6 or above; or currently licensed Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician (MD/DO).
- The candidate must hold National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification at the EMT level or higher.
- The candidate must hold Basic Life Support certification.
- The candidate must maintain current medical certifications throughout the contract and complete annual TC 8-800 recertification for all tables.
- The candidate must have experience delivering emergency medical, tactical trauma, or combat casualty care training.
- The candidate must be able to review documents, maintain electronic files, and manage spreadsheets, tracking logs, suspense actions, or similar records.
- The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
- The candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- The candidate must be able to manage multiple records and deadlines and communicate professionally with military, civilian, medical, recruiting, and contractor personnel.
- The candidate must be eligible for and obtain a Common Access Card, requiring a minimum Tier 1 investigation.
- The candidate must complete required antiterrorism awareness, iWatch, OPSEC, cybersecurity, SHARP, onboarding, and TC 8-800 training within the specified deadlines.
- The candidate must comply with controlled unclassified information handling, hazardous-material management, and applicable OSHA, EPA, and military regulations.
- The candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and remain subject to random drug screens.
- The candidate must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout training environments for extended periods of 8 or more hours.
- The candidate must be able to lift and carry medical training equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- The candidate must be able to kneel, crouch, and work at ground level during field training exercises.
- The candidate must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and use manual dexterity to apply moulage and operate patient simulators.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Tactical Combat Casualty Care training across all four tiers: All Service Members, Combat Lifesaver, Combat Medic, and Combat Paramedic.
- Instruct 68W Combat Medic sustainment training and Combat Lifesaver initial and sustainment training to non-medical personnel.
- Conduct training in classroom, laboratory, and field training and evaluation environments.
- Maintain instructor-to-student ratios required by Medical Education and Training Campus directives.
- Instruct inexperienced and seasoned Soldiers in class sizes directed by the medical proponent.
- Assess students' critical-thinking and psychomotor skills under high-fidelity simulated conditions.
- Support a projected minimum throughput of at least 2,500 68W students annually across all Medical Simulation Training Center sites.
- Use approved scenario-based training in accordance with course Training Circulars or medical-proponent approval.
- Apply moulage techniques, environmental control, and theatrical special effects to simulate realistic injuries and environments.
- Assess students using grading sheets for individual scenarios.
- Ensure training content is approved by the appropriate medical proponent, including MTN, Deployed Medicine, and CMSD.
- Operate Medical Simulation Training Center systems, including ISS, VPS, and MT-C2.
- Configure and execute realistic training scenarios and simulation effects.
- Contribute required data to the Monthly Staffing Report.
- Document and report accidents and incidents.
- Maintain training records, student evaluations, and After-Action Review documentation.
- Operate patient simulators, manikins, and medical training equipment and perform operator-level preventive maintenance.
- Follow original equipment manufacturer instructions for MSTC equipment requiring extended service agreement repair.
- Inventory and manage consumables such as skins, synthetic blood, and PMCS kits.
- Notify the Contracting Officer's Representative when consumables are required.
- Initiate fielded-equipment repair and condition-status reports and keep the Training Operations Representative and APM/COR apprised of equipment issues.
- Notify the W-TRS maintainer through the ACA for equipment failures outside extended service agreement coverage.
- Participate in Quality Control Plan activities, including peer observations, self-assessments, and After-Action Reviews.
- Participate in enterprise quality initiatives, instructor development programs, and cross-site standardization.
- Resolve administrative and minor performance issues.
- Ensure timely completion of reports, rosters, and deliverables.
- Oversee adherence to training standards, security protocols, and classroom requirements.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support certification.
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care provider or instructor certification.
- Experience with medical simulation Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations, including SimMan 3G, MTC2, or Cut Suit.
- Prior Medical Simulation Training Center or medical simulation training center experience.
- Experience with moulage techniques and theatrical special effects for high-fidelity scenarios.
- Familiarity with TC 8-800 tables and the Deployed Medicine curriculum.
- Experience supervising training or instructional staff.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and team management.
