Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in fraud analysis, fraud operations, or transaction monitoring.
  • A proven track record leading complex fraud investigations.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, including identifying suspicious patterns across large datasets, conducting detailed investigations, and making sound judgment calls based on incomplete information.
  • Experience working with fraud detection tooling such as device fingerprinting, behavioral analytics, and case management platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders, customers, external parties, and law enforcement when needed.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with risk, compliance, product, and engineering teams.
  • Willingness to obtain Series 3, Series 7, and Series 63 or Series 66 licenses if not already held.
Responsibilities
  • Lead complex and high-risk fraud investigations end-to-end, including coordinated fraud rings, synthetic identities, and sophisticated account takeover schemes.
  • Conduct fraud risk assessments to identify and mitigate emerging fraud vectors across products, services, and customer segments, and present findings.
  • Collaborate with risk, compliance, legal, and customer support to resolve escalations and ensure a consistent, well-documented investigative standard across the team.
  • Communicate directly with customers on complex fraud and account security matters, including verification requests and dispute resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of investigations, case outcomes, and fraud loss reporting in line with internal recordkeeping standards.
  • Monitor emerging fraud trends, including AI-generated identity fraud, social engineering, and SIM-swapping, and recommend process or detection improvements.
  • Manage a caseload of the firm's most complex and highest-risk investigations with significant autonomy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a broker-dealer, fintech, or financial services environment.
  • CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification.
