Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in MUSC Health’s EP Technology Program as a student and/or in an accredited electrophysiology cardiovascular technology program and in the last clinical rotations.
  • Obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support certification within three months of hire and maintain both certifications thereafter.
  • Obtain Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist certification within one year of the program completion date.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working in confined spaces, bending, squatting, reaching, repetitive hand and arm movements, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Ability to work in radiation-producing environments while wearing 10–25 pounds of lead for long periods.
  • Ability to maintain required corrected vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color discrimination, hearing, tactile sensory, and olfactory functions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts and overtime, and work in a latex-safe environment.
  • Ability to qualify physically for respirator use initially and as required.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, apply critical thinking, and communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to work respectfully in a team environment and demonstrate willingness to learn.
  • Student from another South Carolina university or college.
Responsibilities
  • Provide health care services using cardiovascular and electrophysiology technology skills, knowledge, and techniques to aid and assist with diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology technology-based procedures and studies under the request or supervision of a licensed cardiovascular or electrophysiology technologist and physician.
  • Perform limited radiographic procedures as authorized by state law and produce images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner.
  • Approach patients and maintain a demeanor consistent with medical ethics and standards.
  • Provide patient care essential to the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
