Maven is looking for an experienced, high-performing player/coach sales leader to help us expand our entry into the Public and Labor market. You will be responsible for generating new pipeline, winning new business, and building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will also oversee training and developing our current team to do the same.
You are a sales or consulting professional with demonstrated experience within the Taft-Hartley & Public Sector market, leading high performing teams to navigate complex sales opportunities, close multi-employer deals, and consistently exceed goals. This candidate must be a strong seller and sales leader who is extremely well organized, has in-depth market knowledge, well built relationships, process oriented, metrics driven, and quality minded.
As VP of Public and Labor Sales at Maven Clinic, you will....
- Develop and execute the Maven Public and Labor strategy to achieve pipeline and bookings targets while supporting broader Maven goals
- Build Maven’s footprint in the Public and Labor Market - Expanding our presence with prospects, consultants, coalitions & conferences
- Win new business - Present Maven’s value proposition in front of prospects both virtually and in person for individual opportunities as well as at industry events (~40% travel)
- Utilize data and analytics to manage, coach, and monitor performance of the team to establish and deliver against individual strategies and goals
- Work closely with cross functional team, including Rev Ops, Marketing, and Strategic Sales Associates to build and increase pipeline across the market segment
- Manage the team through the sales process - qualification to close - and ensure pipeline reflect each stage of cycle accurately
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including other sales managers to ensure team has adequate resources to hit growth target (such as coordinating with internal teams to address specific prospects asks that arise in the sales process, ensuring we have the right SMEs to contribute to opportunities and join meetings at appropriate times in the sales process)
- Present accurate sales forecasts and performance metrics to the management team with recommendations for improvements, resource allocation, and investments
- Proactively identify and remove roadblocks for the Public and Labor sales team to enable higher volume of sales and win in the market
- Be a thought and motivational leader within our sales and extended Maven team
We’re looking for you to bring:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Public and Labor healthcare sales or consulting. Experience in managing teams driving large dollar contracts within the collectively bargained marketplace.
- Successful track record of leading Public and Labor sales teams to meet/exceed quota attainment.
- Process-oriented leadership skills that include a track record of scaling organizations to drive increasingly efficient growth
- Growth mindset that thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Demonstrated comfort with data; ability to interpret and discuss analytics with ease in conversations with individuals of varying levels of understanding
- Proven track record in identifying, building and managing complex business partnerships that involve growing revenue and market share
- Thoughtful and organized collaborator, working with and leading cross-functional teams
Helpful experiences and backgrounds:
- A robust network of relationships with key stakeholders in the Public and Labor market: brokers, health plans, coalitions and funds.
- In-depth knowledge of the Taft-Hartley market, health & welfare fund operation, collective bargaining strategy, Public & Labor decision making process
- Passion for building new verticals, expanding market segments and taking on challenges.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a face paced start-up environment
