Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Math, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically with Excel.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Knowledge of energy markets: ERCOT, PJM, SPP, NYISO, and MISO - other industries good (likes commodity, financial markets)
  • Understanding of renewable generation and how it interacts with RTOs, Transmission Owners, and Balancing Authorities.
  • Experience with ETRM systems (i.e. Allegro, Adapt2)
  • Experience working with basic programming, data or workflow tools (i.e. PowerBI, SQL, Python)
  • Strong asset and transaction modeling skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skill.
Responsibilities
  • Support trading activities with the risk management, financial reporting, asset management and settlements functions.
  • Support trading floor operations, including but not limited to, transaction execution, energy scheduling, support of the development of analytical tools, support of after-the-fact analysis and translate those results.
  • Support the origination and execution of mid-marketing transactions for structured hedges, involvement in negotiations of enabling agreements such as ISDA, NAESB, and EEI.
  • Provide accurate reporting of hedges that adhere to constraints of the assets’ project finance structures, including the use of swaps, options, FTRs/CRRs, basis trades, REC trades and other structured products.
  • Interface with external customers, partners, and brokers. Internally this position will interact with teams such as commercial transactions, trading, asset management, risk, and accounting.
