About the role
Qalam is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated intern or volunteer to support our Academy team, specifically the Foundations program. This part-time role is ideal for a student seeking hands-on operational experience in a nonprofit setting, or someone with administrative experience looking to give back through volunteer work.
What you'll do
- Create and manage the Foundations program website and learning portal
- Support instructors with course pacing and curriculum tracking
- Maintain gradebooks and progress report documentation for each student
- Manage instructor communication around scheduling and availability
- Ideate and initiate student socials to foster community building
- Host regular office hours to address student questions and concerns
- Manage and respond to email inquiries
Qualifications
- Basic familiarity with learning portals with a willingness to learn new platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Passion for education and nonprofit work
