Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Three years of experience managing construction projects within an international working environment.
  • Experience working with data center equipment and environments, including switchgear, generators, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems.
  • Experience in facility mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
  • Drive project mechanical outcomes of high complexity and scope as a key contributor, integrating feedback from multiple stakeholders when necessary.
  • Contribute to project mechanical scoping and direction, and manage project mechanical priorities and allocation of technical resources within the project.
  • Provide technical leadership to projects and support and optimize project design, scope, schedule, quality, commissioning, and safety for the mechanical discipline.
  • Provide feedback to central partner teams on possible improvements.
  • Troubleshoot advanced mechanical system events and escalate only the most complex issues as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of cross-project, cross-functional, and cross-organizational procedures and ensure alignment of the mechanical engineer's work with multiple teams and projects.
  • Support interactions with authorities, search for solutions to inspection deficiencies and third-party inspection agreements, and advance statements or instructions addressing authority correction requests.
  • Provide field mechanical engineering support and issue resolution for the campus, supporting the Technical Project Manager in localized design and delivery of projects in line with schedule, cost, quality, technical compliance, and safety requirements.
  • Act as the primary contact between Google, the Project Management Consultancy, and Specialist Contractors, and coordinate with the consultancy's and contractors' engineers for mechanical field-engineering efforts.
  • Oversee Specialist Contractors' mechanical installation activities to ensure compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Identify workload and engage and manage discipline owner representatives to support mechanical engineering delivery of projects.
