Requirements
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English; bilingual Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to move around minor obstacles, climb ladders and inclines, operate heavy equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • OSHA 10/30, First Aid, and CPR certifications are required.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with the general mechanical layout of heavy construction equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide preventative maintenance, service, and repair work on heavy construction equipment at jobsite locations.
  • Inspect, service, and repair equipment engines, brakes, and other components.
  • Diagnose equipment problems quickly and accurately.
  • Perform precautionary procedures on motor vehicles and equipment, including changing oil, checking and changing tires and brakes, servicing electrical systems, and servicing fuel injection pumps.
  • Clean and maintain the work area.
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts.
  • Order tools, machinery inventory, and parts.
  • Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures and report unsafe activities to the supervisor or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to enhance company operations.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
