Position Overview
The Ohio State University College of Nursing invites applications for open-rank, tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or professor level. The vision of the College of Nursing is to be a leading voice and advocate in education, scientific discovery and practice to change the future of healthcare for the better. We are seeking faculty to contribute to a diverse array of areas including aging and caregiving, women’s health, and child and family health. We are particularly interested in candidates whose program of research is focused on the incorporation of biobehavioral research methods. These applicants will have research programs that could benefit from the resources available in our Translational Biosciences Laboratory.
This is not a remote position. Faculty are expected to reside in Ohio and be physically present on campus in Columbus at least three days per week.
Performance Objectives
- Show potential for, demonstrated, or sustained contributions to nursing and/or health-related research and scholarship.
- Develop or expand a nationally and internationally recognized research program in nursing or health sciences.
- Show potential for, demonstrated, or sustained internal and external research funding.
- Support the continued growth and impact of the Translational Biosciences Laboratory, with relevance to nursing practice and research.
- Contribute to undergraduate and graduate nursing education, supervise student research, and foster critical thinking and inquiry among learners.
- Demonstrate leadership and collaboration within academic and clinical environments, with potential to be an engaged member of the College and broader University community.
- Potential for or demonstrated evidence of mentoring student research at graduate and undergraduate levels.

Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
- PhD in Nursing or other related field
- RN licensure in the State of Ohio for those who are nurses (required upon hire)
Desired:
- Ideal applicants will have research programs that could benefit from the resources available in our Translational Biosciences Laboratory
- Postdoctoral research experience is strongly preferred for those at the Assistant Professor rank

Our faculty conduct research across a variety of healthcare, community- based, and educational settings, and manage active, funded research programs through our two research centers: the Martha S. Pitzer Center for Women, Children and Youth, and the Center for Healthy Aging, Self-Management and Complex Care.
The College of Nursing is also home to the Translational Biosciences Laboratory, a dynamic hub for biological and bench-based research who aims to support investigators in exploring the biological underpinnings of complex diseases to enhance clinical care and health outcomes. The Translational Biosciences Laboratory has two biosafety level II (BSL2) labs certified by Ohio State Environmental Health and Safety.
