Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five or more years of related work experience in operational management are required.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance, with the driver's license verified through a motor vehicle record check at hire.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must have reliable transportation for timely travel to multiple offices per day, or reliable alternate transportation if a driver's license and automobile insurance are unavailable.
  • Knowledge of dental plans, insurance fees, administrative guidelines, limitations and exclusions, reporting systems, business correspondence and reporting techniques, and profit and loss statements is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Epic, 1VU, Box, and standard office equipment is required.
  • The role requires independent judgment, timely and accurate decision-making, multitasking, prioritization, organization, problem-solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • The role requires the ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents, respond to business-community inquiries, apply policies and procedures, and use mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
  • The role requires effective verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and the ability to lead a team, prioritize duties, coach, mentor, train, write performance evaluations, conduct feedback and handle team-member relations issues.
Responsibilities
  • Model company culture, values, standards and best operational practices while learning to create an environment that promotes company culture and values daily.
  • Assess, hire and retain right-fit team members through training, supervision, counseling and coaching.
  • Assess, investigate and resolve staff and patient issues by analyzing facts and circumstances to develop timely, effective and logical solutions.
  • Execute the operational model consistently to meet office imperatives in partnership with the Owner Dentist.
  • Drive year-over-year revenue and profit growth.
  • Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in and adherence to cash-management and accounting protocols.
  • Develop the team’s ability to deliver the Perfect Patient Experience.
  • Deliver effective leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members and identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain open communication with direct supervisors, keep commitments and raise issues and concerns openly and early.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies and address others professionally and respectfully.
  • Gain proficiency with people-related functions, including assessment, hiring, retention, performance evaluation, separation processes and compensation guidance and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state, federal and other regulatory requirements.
  • Report weekly to the Regional Manager on accomplishments, improvement areas, performance goals and system effectiveness.
  • By the end of the development program, demonstrate competency in managing Front Office and Back Office team members and in team development.
  • Develop and implement an office success plan, including staff development and office protocols that support efficient operations during manager absences.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor that improve team-member development outcomes.
  • Travel to assigned offices as planned or unplanned, including multiple offices per day when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate degree is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience leading a team, mentoring and coaching subordinates is preferred.
