  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • A heavy civil construction background with at least five years of field experience is required.
  • Experience managing multiple Project Engineers is required.
  • The ability to access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the project team through the communication, coordination, and follow-up necessary to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring to the project team.
  • Report directly to senior management.
  • Provide ongoing project information and project reviews as required by management.
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
  • Ensure the scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by senior management, project participants, and the client.
  • Determine, control, and maintain overall project and discipline schedules and budgets.
  • Track schedule and budget progress against project milestones and take necessary actions to keep the project on track.
  • Identify and secure necessary approvals for changes in project scope, budget, or schedule.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the client and adjust project deliverables as necessary to meet client and stakeholder needs within contractual obligations.
  • Follow and ensure conformance with company policies and procedures, including safety policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ten-hour and thirty-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration certificates are preferred.
  • Previous roadway, bridge, or railroad experience in the greater Chicago area and knowledge of local practices are preferred.
