The Role:
As an Intern for Building of Solar Cell Characterization Equipment you will be working as a part of a solar cell engineering team on the building, acceptance testing, packaging and development of electroluminescence and light IV testing tools. Your responsibilities will include upgrading video and photo cameras to enable acquisition of infrared light, building test stands and boxes, assembling LED arrays, building testing chucks, mounting thermocouples, and setting up power supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble characterization tools in accordance with instructions
- Conduct acceptance testing
- Package and ship the equipment to the customers
- Maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in Engineering, Physics or similar field
- Ability to manipulate miniature tools and appliances
- Experience with custom design and assembly of electrical devices is a strong plus
- Experience building or customizing circuit boards or flex circuits is a strong plus
- Ability to work on site in Tempe, Arizona for 20 hrs/week.
