Red Ventures is looking for an investing writer to join our Bankrate team. As a writer, you will help guide consumers beginning their investing journey, as well as explain key insights and trends in the markets to more experienced investors already working toward many of life’s biggest financial goals.
We are looking for a hard-working, detail-oriented individual who can help us further grow our presence in investing, retirement planning and a series of emerging categories within the investment universe.
What You’ll Do:
- Write informative stories that are highly visible on search and syndication channels, as well as engaging on social media.
- Explain basic and advanced concepts within investments such as bonds, crypto and options using easily understandable language and visuals.
- Work closely with the editor to brainstorm story ideas, respond to edits and meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with the SEO team to establish high-level priorities and adapt to recent changes in search guidelines/best practices.
- Monitor news and trends related to investing and retirement planning.
- Build industry connections with top investing and financial market experts.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 2 years of experience covering investing, financial markets or related topics.
- Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, with the ability to respond to edits.
- Familiarity with writing content based on SEO concepts and best practices.
- Willingness to leverage technology to find efficiencies in the content workflow.
- Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities while keeping up with a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with a team and individually as needed.
- Ability to grasp the voice, style and tone of the Bankrate brand.
- Experience with AP Style
Compensation:
- Cash compensation range: $60,000 - $80,000*
- NYC cash compensation range: $60,000 - $96,000
- Note: actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
