Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Three to five years of civil project-site inspection experience or oil and gas quality inspection experience.
  • Required exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil and gas, industrial, and welding activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered civil drawings, blueprints, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to independently perform piping system walkdowns, structural walkdowns, and civil inspections.
  • Ability to write daily reports and document project activities.
  • Ability to collect and record field data to ensure activities conform to corporate quality control procedures and to implement the quality control program for assigned project tasks.
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the property and laydown yards, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of civil construction activities, including earthworks, excavation, grading, concrete placement, foundations, paving, utilities, and structural works.
  • Verify that work is performed according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality control plans.
  • Perform material receiving inspections and verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Witness field testing activities, including soil compaction, concrete testing, and other quality assurance tests.
  • Ensure proper installation and workmanship of civil infrastructure components.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Review and verify Inspection and Test Plans and quality checklists.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports as required.
  • Document non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and follow-up inspections.
  • Ensure quality records are properly filed and maintained for project closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, local building codes, industry standards, and company requirements.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to approved procedures and quality control requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Support implementation of the project's Quality Management System.
  • Coordinate inspections with construction supervisors, subcontractors, testing laboratories, and client representatives.
  • Attend quality meetings and provide updates on inspection activities and quality issues.
  • Work closely with engineering and construction teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Identify quality trends and recommend improvements to construction practices.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Promote quality and continuous improvement on the project site.
  • Work at a project site in the Permian Basin of West Texas.
