Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area
  • Ten or more years of experience with operational technology and information technology data, control systems, data historians, data analysis and system integration and interfacing, including deep knowledge of the OT and IT data space, such as distributed control systems, historians, laboratory information management systems, manufacturing execution systems and enterprise resource planning systems
  • Ten or more years of experience in a pre-sales role or five or more years of professional services experience with at least five years in a pre-sales role
  • Background with the Purdue model, firewalls, and OT integration practices
  • Hands-on experience with data exchange technologies such as OPC and OPC Unified Architecture and communication protocols such as Kafka and Message Queuing Telemetry Transport is highly desirable
  • Understanding of information technology data integration, data lakes and data warehouse technology, networking, cybersecurity and data analytics
  • Hands-on coding skills, and willingness to code for demo purposes as well as present to customers
  • Experience with SQL databases and scripting languages such as Lua
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, business intelligence and analytics technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks is highly desirable
  • Fast learner with a desire to learn cutting-edge new technologies
  • A team player with the ability to relate to customers and maintain good working relationships
  • Experience authoring bids, writing proposals and quoting projects
  • Excellent spoken and written skills in English language
  • Process industry experience (Refining, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals) a plus
  • Experience with AspenTech IP21, Aveva PI or Inmation is a definite plus
  • Experience with other AspenTech technologies (e.g. Advanced Process Control, Supply Chain Management or Global Data Optimization technology) to ensure data integration and KPI presentation is a definite plus but not a requirement
  • Other languages a definite asset but not a requirement
  • Ability to obtain a corporate AMEX and travel globally
Responsibilities
  • Lead solution architecture associated with major account opportunities and drive large enterprise Inmation deals toward close by working with regional Sales Account Managers and regional solution consultants
  • Articulate Inmation Industrial Data Fabric to customers, architect the solution, describe how Inmation fits into existing OT and IT systems, and technically sell customers on the Inmation vision and solution
  • Design and construct Inmation demos based on customer requirements and configure demonstrations for customer executives and stakeholders
  • Support growth of the business in both License and Services Bookings at all times
  • Work cooperatively with the AspenTech extended team to ensure successful close of sales opportunities, project delivery and completion
  • Be on the core team of new product launch within the related area of expertise
  • Travel up to six trips per quarter

Emerson has completed its acquisition of all outstanding shares of Aspen Technology, making AspenTech a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition followed a tender offer for $265 per share, with 72% of shares tendered. AspenTech's shares have ceased trading on NASDAQ. Antonio Pietri will retire as CEO, with Vincent M. Servello appointed as President. The transaction was advised by Goldman Sachs, Centerview Partners, and Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Emerson to Acquire AspenTech for $7.2B

Emerson has agreed to acquire the remaining shares of AspenTech that it does not already own for $265 per share, in a deal valued at $7.2 billion. Emerson currently holds approximately 57% of AspenTech's shares. Once the transaction is completed, AspenTech will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Emerson. The acquisition is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2025.
