Sr. Strategy & Planning Associate I

About the Role

We are looking for a Strategy & Planning Associate I to support strategic initiatives, marketing & business planning, and operations. While this role will report to the Head of Strategy & Planning for Uber Freight Shipping, it will partner closely with our performance marketing team.

It is a role that requires a combination of deep strategic expertise, curiosity, and grit with excellent judgment and discretion. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed and has strong experience in general marketing and business strategy, strategic and operational planning, analyzing large sets of quantitative and qualitative data, and driving executive-level communications. They will also be comfortable managing processes and working cross-functionally with key partners across Marketing, Operations, Data Science, Finance, and more to solve Uber Freight’s toughest challenges, and advocate for high-priority initiatives.

What the Candidate Will Do

• Analyze large sets of data and insights to develop perspectives on key business priorities and inform marketing strategy
• Develop recommendations on key business questions across the Uber Freight Shipping Platform with frameworks, customer insights, and data to unlock growth opportunities
• Lead competitive insights by analyzing internal and external data and monitoring the competitive landscape to identify risks and opportunities
• Support complex cross-functional initiatives working closely with performance marketing, finance, product, sales, and operations teams
• Be a thought partner to marketing and sales teams to support the growth of Uber Freight

Basic Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in management consulting, strategy, operations, data analytics, or a highly quantitative marketing role
• Strong analytical and Excel / Google Sheets skills with the ability to quickly isolate data and insights
• Experience with writing advanced SQL queries 
• Experience with creating reports and dashboards in Tableau and Salesforce 
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfort with maintaining data pipelines and automating workflows
• Proven experience working with large and complex datasets
• Previous exposure to marketing analytics will be prioritized
• Familiarity with inbound marketing and SEO
• Experience with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, PMAX, LinkedIn Ads

Illinois: The target base salary for this role is $84,350-$102,850
