Requirements

  • Ph.D. in business administration, education, public health, or a related discipline, with 1–2 years of relevant experience in program or project management, preferably in an academic, research, or nonprofit setting.
  • Master’s (M.S.) in a related discipline, with 2–3 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of assigned research and training programs.
  • Develop and maintain project work plans, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee timelines, milestones, and progress tracking for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Coordinate with Meharry leadership, faculty, and external partners to ensure program alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Develop and monitor program budgets in collaboration with Finance and Grants Management.
  • Track expenditures, prepare financial summaries, and ensure fiscal compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for program sustainability and expansion through internal or external funding.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between Meharry and program collaborators, including academic institutions, funders, and community partners.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication and collaboration.
  • Organize advisory meetings, steering committees, and reporting sessions.
  • Oversee collection of program data, metrics, and participant outcomes.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports for leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Support evaluation and quality improvement activities, ensuring programs meet measurable impact goals.
  • Collaborate with faculty and communication teams to promote program achievements and opportunities.
  • Coordinate student and trainee engagement, including recruitment, mentoring logistics, and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to dissemination efforts through website updates, presentations, and publications.
