Requirements
  • Minimum three years of experience inspecting or maintaining fire sprinkler systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical training preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 13, and applicable building and fire codes
  • Ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and system schematics
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when working with valves, piping, and system components
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and customer conversations
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a field-based role
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • A willingness to work occasional overtime, weekends, or nights as needed to support customer or emergency needs
Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections, testing, and routine maintenance on fire sprinkler systems in line with NFPA 25 and local regulations
  • Evaluate system performance, verify that devices, valves, and control assemblies are operating properly, and record test results accurately
  • Identify code deficiencies, potential hazards, and system impairments and provide clear recommendations for repairs or corrective actions
  • Coordinate inspection schedules with customers, contractors, and building maintenance personnel and communicate findings in a straightforward way
  • Work with the Advanced Test and Inspection team and Deficiency Sales team to help customers move from inspection findings to timely, compliant repairs or upgrades
  • Respond to service calls or emergency needs including occasional night, weekend, or short notice work when customer needs arise and assist with basic troubleshooting and minor repairs
  • Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and your vehicle in clean, organized, and reliable condition
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies while representing Encore with professionalism and integrity on every job site
Desired Qualifications
  • You hold NICET certification in water-based systems for inspection, testing, or layout
  • You have additional technical training in fire protection, sprinkler systems, or related trade
  • You have experience inspecting both sprinklers and special hazard or suppression systems
  • You have prior experience working closely with deficiency sales or service teams to transition inspection findings into repair work
