Role:
Manage the identification and cultivation of original programming opportunities, serving as department point person for development operations, supporting group Vice President in executing overarching strategy, and collaborating with colleagues on physical production and release activity.
Responsibilities:
- Formalize process for receiving and tracking content pitches from internal and external sources
- Provide coverage of screenplays, treatments, trailers, and sizzle reels
- Take “general” and pitch meetings to identify creative talent to attach to MLB programming concepts
- Research topics, books, articles, and archival video to identify subject matter as potential film/TV intellectual property
- Attend screenings and film festivals, monitoring competitive programming as well as prospective partnerships
- Attend location shoots and review cuts of programs to provide critical feedback
- Create presentation materials for internal meetings and network pitches
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (concentration in cinema studies preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in developing film and TV concepts
- Experience in sports (ideally with knowledge of Baseball and its history) is a plus
Skills and experience:
- A cultivated taste for film and TV content, with ability to articulate and deconstruct tone, genre, and narrative
- Appropriate relationship management skills necessary for maintaining connections with talent agencies and production companies
- Up-to-date awareness of Hollywood industry trends and developments
- Well-organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experienced in PowerPoint creation, with moderate video production/editing ability

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $75,000-$95,000.
