Rare Carat is a US-based online diamond retailer that operates as a managed marketplace, directly selling diamonds and jewelry while coordinating payment, shipping, and customer service. It started as an AI-powered price comparison engine (the 'Kayak for diamonds') and shifted in 2021 to a direct-sales model that connects buyers with vetted wholesalers to reduce markups. The catalog includes natural and lab-grown diamonds, purchasable loose or set into rings, bands, and earrings, with GIA graduate gemologists offering unbiased guidance and every diamond certified by GIA, IGI, or GCAL. Customer protections include 360° diamond videos, a 30-day returns policy, free insured shipping, a one-year resizing service, and financing through TD Bank.
