Position Summary

The HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in aligning HR initiatives with the organization’s objectives and fostering a positive and productive work environment. As an HR Generalist, you will work closely with HR leadership and various departments to provide HR guidance, implement HR programs, and ensure the well-being and development of our employees.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

The HR Generalist is responsible for the following functions and responsibilities:

• Handle the daily operations of the HR team by helping employees feel included, comfortable, prepared, and productive throughout their entire employee lifecycle, while fostering good relationships with both employees and external stakeholders and partners
• Conduct and manage the new hire onboarding for North America and Global employees, including IT equipment procurement, onboarding in our HRIS, employment verifications, background checks, I-9 verifications, and the HR new hire orientation.
• Assist with the annual benefit review process, create open enrollment communications, update and distribute all applicable documents and administer changes to benefits
• Administer employee benefit plans (including RRSP and 401K plans) and insurance plans, update employee information on plan sponsor websites and coordinate with external plan sponsor contacts.
• Assist employees with our HRIS and ATS systems and processes, including advising the HR team, managers, and employees regarding best use of the system. Support the HR team and AccelByte employees in troubleshooting & correcting operational issues within both systems.
• Ensure accurate documentation is received for employee changes including payroll adjustments, wage increases, promotions, relocations, and new employee payroll information and update in our HRIS as required.
• Participate in performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans, to drive employee growth and productivity.
• Assist and draft company communications as needed.
• Answer employee questions regarding compensation and benefits, health & safety, company policies and HR best practices while ensuring strict confidentiality. 
• Ensure compliance with all HR laws and regulations; review and update HR policies as necessary, while providing HR policy & processes guidance and interpretation
• Manage the entire offboarding process by ensuring all procedures are completed in an organized and efficient manner
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or any related field of study or relevant work experience.
• At least 3 years in an HR generalist role.
• Intermediated knowledge of Google Suite and/ or Excel - must have the ability to do a VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. 
• Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws. 
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret HR metrics.
• Strong commitment to continuous improvement with a high degree of initiative.
• Advanced experience in maintaining data and other employee records using HRIS systems. HRIS implementation experience is preferred.
• Prior experience as an HR Generalist in a highly dynamic tech-based company.
• Strong analytical thinking abilities, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Experience in drafting and updating regulations,  policies, and procedures to support business needs.
• High standard of ethical conduct to uphold strict confidentiality protocols while handling sensitive employee data.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English language to succeed in a remote work environment.
• Must have the ability to adjust work routine/schedule to fit an Asia Pacific Time Zone multiple times a week.

• Salary Range : CAD 45,000 - 70,000 annually
